The Big Government legacy of 9-11?

obama91112 years later, on this anniversary of 9-11, our communities continue to sadly remember the nearly 3,000 victims who lost their lives. However, with leadership coming out once again to give stirring speeches and photo-ops – one can’t help but get the feeling that the federal government may be just a little too eager in using painful circumstances for the promotion of their agenda. An agenda which doesn’t seem to include us.

Because over the last 12 years, the people of Missouri have lost a great deal in the advancement of a federal agenda of war, and the ever-tightening grip on our people. Leaders like Obama like to talk about the “evil” of governments who threaten our way of life, which pretty much boils down to the federal government cramming it’s brand of egalitarianism down our throats. But honestly, with millions of aborted babies, citizen spying (NSA), nearly 17 trillion dollars of debt, the creation of a police state (such as was exhibited in Boston this year), suspension of habeas corpus (through the NDAA), a “war” against the family, Executive abuses, Supreme Court mandates, bloated bureaucracy, the funding of insurgent movements and the creation of bloody civil wars (which creates more people who want to attack our communities), a military empire, and legislators that seem confused over whether it should listen to the president over their own constituents….well, you tell me. Has the federal government worked to check its power and truly partner with state and local governments, and the people of these communities in protecting their rights  – or has it grown ever more massive in the hungry quest to exert control?
